Former MGAWC scholarship recipient and UM-D Environmental Studies graduate, John Deslippe will talk about installing and maintaining rain gardens, his work with the students and teachers at Detroit Public Schools, the value of native plants, dealing with invasive species, and the grant project that MGAWC is contributing to. John is currently a Water Resource Specialist at OHM Advisors.

To encourage gardeners to sign up for an annual membership ($15 US a year, October 1-September 30), the board is testing a $5 guest fee for non-members attending individual MGAWC programs. The non-member guest fee does not apply to current U of M-Dearborn students.
