8:00 p.m.  Kim Roth on Right Plant, Right Place

Kim returns with a new presentation, Right Plant, Right Place. This program will include discussion of plantings around black walnut trees, in particularly wet or dry areas, for bees and butterflies, that deer might not eat, and for other situations, all building on Kim's incredible knowledge of perennials and botany.

Kim Roth is the perennial guru and buyer at Christensen’s Plant Center, a major wholesale supplier of quality nursery stock (perennials, conifers, trees and shrubs). Christensen’s is located in Plymouth and South Lyon and serves landscape professionals throughout the Midwest. A popular speaker at MGAWC, Tollgate and Growing with Master Gardeners, Kim is also the host of one-day-a-year Master Gardener shopping at Christensen’s. Her recent topics for MGAWC include ornamental grasses in 2005, plants to avoid in 2008, hydrangeas in 2009, silver sensations in 2009 (for MGAWC’s silver anniversary), container gardening in 2011, botanical Latin in 2013 and green roofs in 2015.
