Wind down a great year in the garden with a cooking demonstration using flavored vinegars including those that you can create from herbs in your garden. Enjoy the fragrance and samples of interesting recipes as culinary instructor Mary Spencer provides inspiration and instruction for dishes that include flavored vinegars. Mary will provide recipes you might use for your holiday celebrations.
Mary Spencer has a cooking school, Taste: A Cook’s Place, in the one-year-old Village Workshop in Northville, www.tasteacooksplace.net, where she teaches a variety of classes for home cooks. Topics for upcoming evening classes include South of France, Key West Cuisine, Spanish Tapas and Paella, various Meatless Monday themes including Italian Garden, Grilling Seafood, Chinese Take-out at Home, Sliders, the Sophisticated South, Cooking with McClary Brothers Drinking Vinegars, Panini, Autumn Grilling, High Tea at Downton Abbey, Indian Harvest, Fall Baking, Pressure Cooking Made Easy, Food of Rome, Italy, as well as cookbook nights focusing on a particular chef or trend.
A frequent presenter at garden clubs and a culinary instructor at ABC Warehouse, http://www.abcwarehouse.com/Content_Pdfs/2016%20Fall%20Classes.pdf, Mary conducts food tours, does menu planning and researches heirloom recipes. She has been teaching cooking for 17 years including demonstrating pumpkin and squash dishes, Mexican cuisine, casseroles, seasonal canning, authentic Polish cuisine, pressure cooking, holiday cookies and festive desserts. Mary’s goal is to make people better cooks.
